Per general style guide, we translate acronyms the first time is mentioned on files we work on. Most acronyms used in English do not have equivalents in Spanish, but sometimes there a few acronyms with equivalents in Spanish and the description “por sus siglas en inglés” is not needed.

Examples:

1. ST:                   Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Translation:  Trastorno de déficit de atención e hiperactividad (TDAH)

2. ST:                  International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD 10-CM)

Translation:  Clasificación Internacional de Enfermedades, 10.ª revisión, Modificación Clínica (CIE-10-MC)

* Note: some acronyms includes edition numbers, check if acronym is written with letters or ordinal numbers since both are accepted.
