The term “time zone” refers to the local time of a region or a country. We recently came across with some misunderstandings on how they should be written and their correct translation.

Example of a mistake:

ST: Central

Translation: hora central

Therefore, we want to make sure any doubt can be covered with the following time zones that we can find on ST either they are abbreviated or without the word “time”:

1. – ST: Central / CT

     Translation: hora del centro

   – ST: CST

     Translation: hora estándar del centro

2. – ST: Pacific / PT

     Translation: hora del Pacífico

   – ST: PST

     Translation: hora estándar del Pacífico

3. – ST: Mountain / MT

     Translation: hora de la Montaña

   – ST: MST

Translation: hora estándar de la Montaña

4. – ST: Eastern / ET

     Translation: hora del este

   – ST: EST

     Translation: hora estándar del este
