Term: Library circulation (also known as Library lending).

Definition: It is the function of lending library materials (books, serials, sound recordings, moving images, cartographic materials, etc. that are owned by a library) to the users of the library. (2024, librarianshipstudies)

Translation: Circulación de préstamos de la biblioteca

Context: Since “circulation” has other meanings such as “transporte” and based on the use in TM, it is recommended to add the word “préstamos” to translate the meaning of this function and avoid a literal translation as “circulación de la biblioteca”.

*Additional Note: Please be careful when translating the verbs “lend” (prestar) related to a library and “borrow” (pedir/tomar prestado) related to a patron/user.
